The Director of Discipline's role is to administer Discipline within the Central Zone in accordance with the CZRC Discipline Plan and the CHA's Official's Code of Ethics on behalf of Hockey Alberta. Additionally, the Director of Discipline will handle all external Complaints and internal Grievances on behalf of the CZRC Executive in accordance with the CZRC Discipline Plan. To assist with these duties, a Discipline Committee (DC) will be struck made up of officials from the Central Zone. Five officials on the DC will handle the majority of fine-related offences for No Shows, Lates, Dress Code Violations, etc. The Director of Discipline will oversee their work and will personally handle all Complaints and Grievances that arise. Lastly, the DC will assist with the planning and execution of the CZRC Year End Social event. Included on this web-site you will find a Fine Schedule which indicates some of the more common disciplinary offences and their associated fines. You will also find a Summary of Procedures for Discipline, Complaints, and Grievances. Both of these references were adopted from the CZRC Discipline Plan. Some minor changes made to the Discipline Plan (with input from the DC) will be presented for approval to the membership at the October General Meeting. The full Discipline Plan can be viewed online on our website (www.czrc.ab.ca). In reviewing the Discipline Plan, the Fine Schedule, and the Procedures for Discipline, Complaints, and Grievances, you will find that the Zone's expectations of you are quite clear. If you require clarification, please consult the CHA's Official's Code of Ethics included in this Clinic Package. If you still require clarification, please contact me. The CZRC Executive and the Discipline Committee have high expectations for every member of the CZRC to act in accordance with the Discipline Plan, demonstrating respect for the game, integrity and honor towards others, and with appreciation of their opportunity to be a Hockey Official with the CZRC, Hockey Alberta, and the Canadian Hockey Association. We have the highest expectations of all members of our Zone, please strive for excellence in all that you do! |
